The crinoline motif made with 3-ply cotton thread.

Starting at center, ch 10, join ith sl st.
1st rnd. Ch 3, 25 dc in ring; join.
2nd rnd. Sc in same place as sl st, *ch 3, sc in next 3 sc. repeat from * around, ending with sc in last 2 dc, sl st in sc first made.
3rd rnd. Sl st in next ch-3 loop, ch 4, 2 tr in same ch-3 as sl st, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr; thread over and draw through all loops on hook; ch 1 to fasten (a 2-tr cluster made). *Ch 7, 3-tr in next ch-3 loop, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr. Complete as for a cluster. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 7, sl st in tip of first cluster.
4th rnd. Sl st in ch-7 sp, ch 4, 2-tr cluster in same place as last sl st, ch 4. In same ch-7 loop make 3-tr cluster, ch 4 and 3-tr cluster. *Ch 4, 9 tr in next ch-7 loop, ch 4. In next ch-7 loop make three 3-tr clusters with ch-4 between each cluster. repeat from * around. Join last ch-4 to tip of first cluster.
5th rnd. Sl st in next 2 ch, sc in ch-4 sp, ch 4, 2-tr cluster in same place as last sl st, *ch 4, 3-tr cluster in next ch-4 sp, ch 7, tr in next sp, tr in next 9 tr, tr in next sp, ch 7, 3-tr cluster in next ch-4 sp. repeat from * around. Join last ch-7 to tip of first cluster.
6th rnd. Sl st in next loop, ch 4, 2-tr cluster in same place as sl st. *Ch 5, 3-tr cluster in same loop as last cluster, ch 7,sc in next loop, ch 7, skip 1 tr, tr in next 9 tr, ch 7, sc in next loop, ch 7, 3-tr cluster in next loop. repeat from * around. Join and fasten off.
