  1. I have been looking for the “sampaguita” pattern for a curtain topper. Would you happen to know how it is made? I know my grandparents use to have them on their windows in Bulacan. I know how it looks like, but I have no idea how it is made. Would really appreciate it if you can send me how to start it out.

    • It was most probably done in Filet Crochet. I have seen similar ones in Baclayon, Bohol, and according to someone from there, young people were taught filet crochet in school (this would be in the 1940s-50s) – in particular, making a peacock pattern in Filet Crochet.

I have some of the basic filet crochet stitches here: the Lacet Stitch, Spaces, and the Block and Spaces.

But I would recommend this tutorial for filet crochet.

      I hope this helps.
If you have a photo of the crocheted curtain topper, I would like to see it! :)
