CL (Cluster): work [yo, insert hook, yo, draw loop through, yo, draw through 2 loops] over the number of sts indicated, yo, draw through all loops on hook.

1st Row (wrong side): 1 sc into 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc into next ch, *skip 3 ch, 7 dc into next ch, skip 3 ch, 1 sc into each of next 3 ch; rep from * to last 4 ch, skip 3 ch, 4 dc into last ch, turn.
2nd Row: 1 ch, 1 sc into first st, 1 sc into next st, *3 ch, 1 CL over next 7 sts, 3 ch, 1 sc into each of next 3 sts; rep from * to last 4 sts. 3 ch, 1 CL over last 4 sts, skip tch, turn.
3rd Row: 3 ch (count as 1 dc), 3 dc into first st, * skip 3 ch, 1 sc into each of next 3 sc, skip 3 ch, 7 dc into loop whch closed next CL; rep from * to end finishing with skip 3 ch, 1 sc into each of last 2 sc, skip tch, turn.
4th Row: 3 ch (count as 1 dc), skip first st, 1 CL over next 3 sts, ( 3 ch, 1 sc into each of next 3 sts, 3 ch, 1 CL over next 7 sts; rep from * finishing with 3 ch, 1 sc into next st, 1 sc into top of tch, turn.
5th Row: 1 ch, 1 sc into each of first 2 sc, *skip 3 ch, 7 dc into loop whoch closed next CL, skip 3 ch, 1 sc into each of next 3 sc; rep from * ending skip 3 ch, 4 dc into top of tch, turn. Rep 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th rows.

A variation in color is to work base chain and first row in color A, then work 2 rows after each other in color B and color A.

Another variation in color is to work 1 row each in colors A, B and C.
