(add 2 for base chain)

2Cdc (2 crossed double crochets) = skip next st, 1 dc into next st, 1 dc into skipped st working over previous dc.

1st row (right side): Skip 3 ch (count as 1 dc), *2Cdc over next 2 ch; rep from * ending 1 dc into last ch, turn.

2nd row: 1 ch (counts as 1 sc), skip 1 st, 1 sc into next and each st to end, working last st into top of tch, turn.

3rd row: 3 ch (count as 1 dc), skip 1 st, * work 2 Cdc over next 2 sts; rep from * ending 1 dc into tch, turn.

Rep 2nd and 3rd rows.
