Diagonal Shell Stitch

Multiple of 4 sts + 1

(add 1 for base chain)

Shell= [1sc, 3ch, 4dc] all into same st.

1st Row (right side): Work 1 shell into 2nd ch from hook, *skip 3 ch, 1 shell into next ch; rep from * to last 4ch, skip 3 ch, 1 sc into last ch, turn.

2nd Row: 3ch (count as 1 dc), skip 1 st, *skip 1 dc, over next 2 sts work dc2tog, 3 ch, skip 1 dc, 1 sc into top of 3 ch; rep from * to end, turn.

3rd Row: 1 ch, 1 shell into first st, *skip 3ch and next st, 1 shell into next sc; rep from * ending skip 3ch and next st, 1 sc into top of tch, turn.

Rep 2nd and 3rd rows.

  1. I sent the wrong email address. Here is the right one. If you are in the mood, could you also get the pattern for overlapping shells. I made a skirt once so long ago, but I left it when we moved here. Thanks I will make that anklet good with summer outfit for my daughter.

    • I’ll try and find that shell stitch, I am not familiar with it at all.

      If you’re looking for plenty of patterns you can log-in Ravelry – the free pattern database there has grown enormous! Maybe there is something there similar to the sampaguita pattern.
