Thanks, Mimi – I just finished the bolero, and with sport weight yarn, the motifs are big and easy to join.

Hi Renee! I thought about it at first but it didn’t get on the yarn at all. I just use a clean newspaper. Of course you can use craft paper or other, which I don’t have at the moment. Hmmm… maybe I should take note of that in the blogpost. Thanks for this reminder!

It’s beautiful! My daughter is getting married in April and I wanted to make her a bridal purse. This would be perfect. Are you going to write out the directions for it? I I also love your necklaces, bracelets have any ideas as to which ones would work? I thanks

I’ve had that problem too! Lately I learned that you can make one motif and then measure that, then multiply by the number of motifs (as indicated in the pattern) across the chest for measurement.

If you have that book “100 Crochet Projects”, the “Square Deal Vest” can teach much about motifs and sizing. By changing hook sizes (3.5mm, 3.75mm, 4mm), motifs can be made for sizes Small, Medium and Large (4″, 4.5″, 5″). On the pattern schematic, there are 4 motifs across the chest.
