PATTERN-RELATED FAQ

  • I paid for a pattern but didn’t receive the PDF.

When a Crochetology pattern is purchased, an automatic email reply containing a link to the pattern PDF is sent to the email address associated with your PayPal account. This happens immediately after the payment is verified.

If you don’t receive this email, it is possible that your email software has placed this email into the SPAM or JUNK folder. Check in these folders to see if the email is there.

Otherwise, your email software may have intercepted the automatic email reply and discarded it.

If you don’t get this email, please contact me at fats.lasay@gmail.com and I’ll send you the link or file directly.

  • I bought a pattern that comes with a free pattern. How do I get the free pattern?

When a pattern with a free promo pattern is purchased, I send the free pattern or a link to the free pattern via email directly to the email address associated with the PayPal account used to make the purchase.

If you don’t get the free pattern with 48 hours, please contact me at fats.lasay@gmail.com and I’ll send you the link or file directly.

  • It’s been 3 days and I still haven’t got a reply from Crochetology!

This can and has happened before. There are a few reasons why I may not be able to respond to emails (or update the Crochetology website), the most probable are: (1) there’s serious Internet connection problems at home or in the region; (2) there’s a military coup and Internet connections are down; and (3) I forgot to pay the bills!

In these cases please don’t panic! :) You may still reach me via snail mail at Fatima Lasay-Batten, San Roque, Baclayon, Bohol 6301 Philippines.

  • You haven’t got an “Add to Cart” button!

I’m so sorry for this inconvenience. I’m using a very simple software that hasn’t got an “Add to Cart” integrated. My plan is to transfer all patterns to The Crochetology Shop in the near future.

GENERAL CROCHETOLOGY FAQ

  • Why is there advertising on your site?

I have been thinking of making more patterns free and get that bit of income from advertising instead.

  • How much do you earn from pattern sales?

Oh not so much as to pay for food and clothing! Crochet is my pleasure and I make patterns not really for selling but only when I feel that I like to make them.

I gross about US$175 per year. Less the PayPal fees, that’s probably US$140.

  • Where does the money go?

I use most of it to pay for Domain Name Registration which costs about US$11 per year, and web hosting which costs about US$70 per year. I’d like to factor in the cost of Internet connection but that would wipe out my pattern sales earnings! (Our wireless Internet connection is about US$225.00 per year).

  • Haven’t you thought of getting a free website at Blogger or somewhere?

I have but I prefer to have more control of my own website and email accounts.

  • I was wondering if it is okay to sell what I make from your patterns?

Yes, it’s perfectly okay.

  • Are your instructions based on US or European abbreviations?

Unless otherwise noted, the patterns here are all US crochet terminology. Those that use the UK terms are mostly the antique patterns by Adeline Cordet, for example Edging No. 401.
