(Uses the UK Terminology for crochet stitches)

To be worked lengthwise.

1st Row: Ch to length desired; 2 dc (keep loops of thread on hook, pull thread through both) in one st, ch 2, sk 2.

2nd Row: 3 sl st, 1 p over 1st 2 dc, 3 sl st, ch 1 over 2nd 2 dc, 3 sl st.

3rd Row: 2 dc over the one ch st, ch 6.

4th Row: 5 sl st, 1 p, 5 sl st over every 6 chs.

Row 1 (RS). Ch 1, 1 sc in first and each st across. Turn.
Row 2. Ch 3, skip first sc, 1 dc in next sc, *ch 1, skip 1 sc, 1 dc in next 2 sc; rep from * to end. Turn.
Row 3. Ch 3, skip first dc, 1 dc in each dc adn each ch-1 sp across, end dc in top of t-ch. Turn.
Rep rows 2 and 3 if longer edging is desired.
Row 4. Ch 3, skip first 2 dc, *2 dc in next dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip 3 dc; rep from *, end skip 2 dc, 7 dc in last ch-2 sp, 1 sc in top of t-ch.

1st Row. Ch 9, form ring; ch 3, 12 dc over half of ring, ch 1, turn.
2nd Row. 5 sl st in 1st 5 dc, ch 5, sk 2 dc, 1 sl st, ch 3, turn.
3rd Row. 12 dc over 5 chs, ch 1, turn.
Row on the Upper Edge. 1 sl st over 1st scallop, ch 4 to next one.

1st Row. Ch 8, 1 sl st, 1 sc, 3 dc, 2 dt over h. Start in 2nd st from hook. Continue to desired length.
2nd Row. 1 Sl in first point, ch 6 to next point.
3rd Row. 1 sl st, ch 1 in 1st l, 9 dt with 1 ch bet each in 2nd l, ch 1, 1 sl st, ch 1 in 3rd l.
4th Row. 1 sl st, ch 3 over every dt, 2 sl st bet scallops.

Make a chain a little longer than the desired length, to allow for taking up making.

1st row. Turn, miss 3 ch. 1 t in each ch to end.
2d row. Turn, in 4th st 2 t, then 3 ch, 2 t in same place; repeat in very 4th st.
3d row. Turn, 4 d, 4 ch, 4 d in first rin, sl st between rings. Work in each ring to end.
4th row. Turn, sl st up to first p, 9 ch, fasten with sl st in 3d p; repeat to end of work.
5th row. Turn, 4 d, 4 ch, 4 d, 4 ch, 4 d, over 9 ch, fasten with sl st between; repeat to end.
